
Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, the village of Chatham, NY is halfway between Albany NY and Pittsfield, MA. The community (population 2,000) was first known as Groat’s Corners, after one of its most prominent citizens. It was incorporated in 1847 as Chatham Four Corners, receiving its present name in 1869. For booklovers on your list, Chatham boasts three wonderful bookstores, Chatham Bookstore, Dodi's Hock-It Books and Berkshire Books, with a number of other stores that carry books as well.
For clothing stores that feature warm winter gear check out Browns Emporium, Banner Clothing House, Chatham Kids, The Dakota, Lea's, Rewraps, Melinda's and Peace by Peace.
Plenty of stores in Chatham carry gifts for the music lover.

This old-fashioned festival offered a plethora of fun activities as well as an opportunity to do some holiday shopping in a delightful setting which included great sales, entertainment, refreshments and plenty of holiday cheer.
One of the highlights of the day was the "Every Child Is A Star Parade." Kids and their parents walked in procession up and down Main Street, carrying stars, singing songs and banging on percussion instruments.
Sheri Bauer-Mayorga and her band of talented kids sang a variety of holiday songs throughout the day.
Chatham's Winterfest was a wonderful event that brought together folks of many talents. It was a great day!
